Federal Way Parks Rainout Line (Steel Lake Park Annex & Celebration Fields): 253-835-6905
Updated by 3:30 PM on weekdays

If the rainout line states that your field is rained out it CANNOT be used, either for practice or a game. This includes the infield and the outfield unless otherwise stated on the line.

Federal Way School fields
do not have a rainout line and are determined by the managers and umpires.

Understanding Rainouts
Games are "rained out" due to poor field conditions - mainly standing water. When deciding whether or not a field is rained out the King County Parks rainout line takes precedence. If the rainout line states a field is rained out then that means the field is rained out for the entire day. At or after start of game, for the Majors, 3A, and 2A divisions, it is the umpire's call regarding field conditions. At the 1A and T-Ball divisions, BOTH coaches must agree that the field conditions have deteriorated enough to where the game can no longer continue.

No field prep work of any type is allowed at South County or Celebration Fields, such as removing standing water, without the authorization of the field's director.

Limited field prep work is allowed at the Steel Lake Park Annex fields only. Raking and chalking is authorized. No digging/trenching is allowed.
