Hello Steel Lake Families,
We are getting ready to close out our 2024/2025 season and would like to thank all of you for making this year amazing! Fall ball is now in full swing.
Before we can wrap up the 2024/2025 year we need to hold our annual General Election Board Meeting. The purpose of this meeting is to get an annual report from the President regarding the league financials and activities and to vote in new board members for next year’s Board of Directors. We encourage everyone to attend! This is a great opportunity to learn more about Steel Lake Little League and our community.
We also want to encourage people to consider joining the league’s volunteer Board of Directors. Your volunteering benefits all our kids and keeps our league running around the bases! We have several exciting long-term members and empty seats need to be filled!
Something extra exciting for 2026, we are celebrating our 50th ANNIVERSARY as a League!
We hope to have some fun celebrating this milestone.
We will need your help to plan that fun!!
The time commitment varies for each Board of Director position’s duties, if you have questions, please don’t hesitate to ask questions. In general, the board will meet once a month, with some busier time periods, depending on where we are on the calendar. For example, it gets busier during registration periods as the teams form, especially at the start of the Spring season and before our annual Jamboree event. But with enough volunteers, the workload is very manageable!
This year’s meeting will be held:
Friday, September 26th at 6:30 PM at Roundtable Pizza in Federal Way.
The address is: 34410 16th Ave. South, 101, Federal Way, WA 98003
Board members can be any interested community member, as long as they complete the volunteer requirements. But, to be eligible to vote during the Annual General Membership meeting you must be a Regular Member in good standing of Steel Lake Little League. As stated in our league constitution, there are two ways to be a good standing Regular Member.
1. All Officers, Board Members, Committee Members, Managers, Volunteer Umpires, and Volunteers with a completed and approved background check, within the previous 12 (twelve) months, according to the Little League International background check guidelines.
2. Parents / Legal Guardians of Player Members who played for SLLL during the spring and/or fall season(s) in the current calendar year. Only the name(s) of the Parent/Legal Guardian that were provided during the registration process will be permitted; with a max of two (2) Regular Members per Player Member.
